We have been busy bees at The Hive
Preparing to re-open soon…
We would like to briefly update you on life at the Hive and share lots of exciting news with you.
During the Lockdown
During lockdown the Hive has functioned as a life line centre. Respecting social distancing regulations, we have been able to provide essential services to those that have really struggled to work from home. Some have had internet connectivity issues, others have young family that has meant that their home environment has not been suitable for concentrating or zoom and standard calls; and in a few instances achieving confidentiality has been a problem.
We understand that during these difficult times it has been critical to facilitate the needs of local businesspeople as best we can, so whilst the social side of the Hive has been closed including the bar and Greek kitchen, we have been able to provide much needed services and support to start-ups, self-employed, small businesses and company directors that until lockdown were working in London and elsewhere.
At the moment our plan is to re-open the Hive to the general public in accordance with Government regulations on Saturday 4thJuly 2020 and this will occur unless the PM decides otherwise. Please monitor our website and social media for the latest updates.
New Stuff at The Hive
During lockdown we have been working hard to be as productive as possible. We have an array of new services coming on stream at the end of this month and in July, which we would like to share with you.
Registered office and postal service
This service is now available, so if you don’t feel comfortable having your home address published on your website and literature you can book for all your business mail to come to us and we will place it in a zip bag in a secure locker until you can pop by and pick it up.
Greek feasting picnic hampers
We are launching a takeaway menu and 3 sizes of boxes so that friends, families and colleagues can create their own tailormade picnics to enjoy in the great outdoors.
New drinks list
We are in the process of not only extending our opening hours, but also being able to retail a fantastic range of lagers, beers, UK and international wines and bubbly with food orders. There will also be a health drinks fridge offering a selection of smoothies and immunity boosting shots, including turmeric.
Retro mobile ‘Buzz Bar’
Coming soon, our fabulous fully licensed mobile bar is on its way, so that should you want the Hive team to come to yours to lay on a party, then you can book our crew, Buzz Bar (1970s fully restored Hive theme caravan), cool furniture, fire pits and live music or stand-up comedy as one complete solution; and you can also select a range of Greek meze for your guests to go with it.
Introducing BE LOCAL to benefit business, households and the environment
We are also launching the UK’s first ever Eco-Local reward programme to support local businesses and households as we come out of lockdown and to support the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and other charities. We are aiming to go live before the end of this month. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors (particularly Enterprise Nation) ‘BE LOCAL.BUZZ’ offers all local businesses FREE ADVERTISING until the end of the year. There will be a huge amount of publicity around Be Local, so if you would like to take up the opportunity to promote your business you can find out more in our on-line brochure and pre-register at belocal.buzz . This scheme is for ALL businesses, including home workers so if you know anyone else that could benefit then please forward this email and share our social media posts.
Please note that before the end of July Be Local will also offering a FREE Job centre, so situations vacant and wanted can be listed.
We would value your opinion – please give us your thoughts
A New Hive Premises?
Finally, we would also like to reach out and ask for your feedback with regards to a new project within the town that we are thinking about investing in to help increase footfall and develop loyalty to Cranbrook and the surrounding area.
We are considering launching a boutique serviced office facility to include mini suites for start-ups and small / medium size organisations, a series of confidential booths for regular users and meeting rooms. This would all be supported by state-of- the-art technology, virtual and attended reception facility, communal secretarial services and in addition to the services already on offer at the Hive at 19 Stone Street a wider range of skills workshops, mentoring and business support.
The Hive concept has always been to provide a unique high-end offering to locals and visitors to EAT, WORK and PLAY. Our existing operation at 19 stone street would not change, but would be further enhanced by a fantastic facility dedicated to offering work solutions that would draw businesses to the town. This would also enable businesspeople that want to offer great hospitality as well to be able to come into the existing Hive at No 19 for food, drink and entertainment (when things return to closer to normal).
We would be most grateful if you could email us your thoughts. If you have any questions about the above services, have news of your own to share with us or would simply like a catch-up, we would love to hear from you on 01580 715772.
