CRANFEST 2021, which takes place on the evening of FRIDAY 3 SEPTEMBER and all day on SATURDAY 4 SEPTEMBER at The Hive, No19 Stone Street.
There will be an amazing array of different artists playing throughout plus local school bands and, with the exception of two headline acts which will be ticketed, the whole thing is COMPLETELY FREE!
The music will be spread across six venues, including The Hive and will cover a variety of musical genres, with something to suit everyone!
The Line Up at The Hive Saturday 4th September from noon ’til 9pm
12.00-12.45 – Dom Prag
Dom’s music knits together British and European folk traditions – classical guitar, mining songs, unaccompanied singing, poems set to music, bluesy riffs and stirring vocals.
13.15- 14.15 – Tobiah
Her original melody- led songs often draw on her own life and connect in a way that everyone understands. She is known for her poignant lyrics and her outstanding voice.
14.45- 15.45 – Jonny Hepbir Duo
Jonny is one of the long-standing players on the British Gypsy jazz scene, performing in a duo with fellow player Luke Eastop. Expect a vibrant mix of swing, jazz and latin grooves.
16.15- 17.15 – Mike Reinstein
Mike fashions his carefully-composed and appealingly literate tracks superbly. His voice is warm and melodic, and his sound, stylish musicianship flows like an endless river.
17.45-19.00 – Jon Coley
With an eclectic mix of styles, and with fresh original songwriting, Jon is making a name for himself for his unique guitar playing, influenced by performers such as John Mayer and John Martyn, and for his passionate vocal delivery.
19.30-20.45 – The Breretons
Formed in 2010, The Breretons were born from the ashes of The Original Sinners, brother/sister duo Marc and Charlotte opting for a return to their folk roots to play heartfelt story telling songs crafted around haunting harmony vocals.
Cranfest has been sponsored by Cranbrook & Sissinghurst Parish Council, the four commercial venues and numerous businesses in the town. All profits made on the day will be donated to local charities; Wellbeing In The Weald, The Sam West Foundation, West Kent Mind, Cranbrook Union Mill, Cranbrook Museum, St Dunstan’s Church Restoration Fund and Cranbrook Rugby Club. Please give generously on the day to support these worthy charities.
Entry to this event is FREE. You can buy drinks from our licensed bar and delicious food from our Greek Kitchen.
Booking a Table
If you want to guarantee a seat and to order food & drink at your table, please call us on 0800 0219 555 and we will book your table, taking a £10 deposit to secure the reservation. Or, simply pop into The Hive at 19 Stone Street Cranbrook to place your deposit.
Please note that you will be seated based on the size of your party and the related table sizes available. We will ask you if you are prepared to table share so that we can maximise space for dining . You can say no of course, but it could be fun!
Live Music: We can not guarantee that you will be directly in front of the band, but once people have enjoyed their meal you are welcome to get up, watch and dance!
